High-Quality Lesson on Labor
On April 17th, teacher Yi Ying from the Primary School Department of our school participated in the high-quality labor class competition for primary schools in Yingjiang District and won the first prize.
To be concrete, teacher Yi Ying's labor class, titled ‘Carrying Forward Intangible Cultural Heritage through 'Boats', A First Experience of Bamboo Weaving’, is based on China's intangible cultural heritage techniques: ‘Bamboo Weaving’. Yi Ying led the fourth-grade students to experience the long history of bamboo weaving culture, understand the persistent and determined spirit of traditional bamboo weavers, and even personally weave bamboo boats in the classroom. What’s noteworthy is that although students were experiencing bamboo weaving for the first time, Yi Ying's clear and easy-to-understand explanations enabled them to quickly master the basic weaving techniques of bamboo weaving. Thus, under the dexterous hands of the children, a row of small bamboo woven boats were born.
Overall, teacher Yi Ying enabled the children to experience the joy of labor in class. Therefore, it’s believed that the seeds of labor will surely take root and sprout in their hearts.
